intercom.com homepage teardown: 74/100
Landing page examples › B2B › intercom.com
The headline "A complete system for AI and human customer service" is a slogan that says what the product category is but never who it's for or what result the buyer gets, and the first screen is crowded with exits and a cookie banner covering a quarter of it.
We ran intercom.com through PageCritic's landing page audit. It scored 74/100, #4 of the 11 B2B landing page examples we scored (average 70) and #23 of all 79 homepages in our ranked list. Its strongest area is Trust (100), and its weakest is Clarity (50).
Audited on 2026-10-24 from desktop and mobile screenshots plus the page's HTML. The scores are an AI's opinion of conversion best practices, not measured conversion rates, and intercom.com didn't ask for this review. The page may have changed since.

Top 3 issues, with fixes
1. No audience named in the first screen
Nothing in the headline or subheadline says which businesses or support teams this is for, so a visitor from a support leader, startup or ecommerce brand can't tell quickly that it fits them.
Fix: Add the audience to the subheadline, for example "Intercom helps support teams of any size run AI and human service in one inbox," or name a segment such as ecommerce or SaaS support teams.
2. Headline is a slogan, not a result
"A complete system for AI and human customer service" describes the product's scope, not an outcome like faster resolutions or fewer tickets, so it gives no reason to act now.
Fix: Lead with the measurable result the page already cites, such as the 76% average resolution rate, and keep the product name in the subheadline.
3. Too many ways to leave the first screen
The first screen has 19 clickable links and buttons (header nav, banner link, Fin AI Agent button, Log in, Contact sales, View demo), which splits attention away from the main trial action.
Fix: In the header, keep only the logo, "Start free trial" and one menu. Move Log in, Contact sales and the Introducing Fin 4 banner link out of the first view or into a menu.
What the intercom.com homepage does well
- The headline and subheadline together say what the product is: a helpdesk with a natively integrated AI Agent called Fin.
- The page backs its claims with a concrete figure: Fin "averaging 76% across 12,000+ customers, with many seeing over 85%."
- The filled black "Start free trial" button has strong contrast (18.88:1) and is large, so it stands out clearly from the other links on the page.
