typefully.com homepage teardown: 64/100
A strong product with clear social proof, crippled above the fold by severe background text bleed and high-friction multi-button auth choices.
We ran typefully.com through PageCritic's landing page audit. It scored 64/100, #8 of the 10 indie hacker landing page examples we scored (average 70) and #58 of all 70 homepages in our ranked list. Its strongest area is Trust (78), and its weakest is CTA (55).
Audited on 2026-10-18 from desktop and mobile screenshots plus the page's HTML. The scores are an AI's opinion of conversion best practices, not measured conversion rates, and typefully.com didn't ask for this review. The page may have changed since.

Top 3 issues, with fixes
1. Severe text clash between hero copy and background mock UI
On desktop, the full draft text by 'Fabrizio Rinaldi' ('Most people overthink their first post...') is visible directly behind the H1, subhead, and OAuth buttons. The overlapping letters drastically degrade contrast and look like a rendering bug.
Fix: Increase backdrop opacity or add a solid/blurred background container (e.g., backdrop-filter: blur(16px) with 90% white fill) behind the central hero card so background text does not bleed through.
2. Choice paralysis with four raw OAuth buttons instead of a primary CTA
Instead of a single, confident primary value action (e.g., 'Get Started Free — No Credit Card'), users are confronted with 'Sign up or continue with' and four disjointed buttons (Google, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Email). This triggers authentication anxiety before interest is established.
Fix: Replace the 4-button cluster with a prominent high-contrast CTA button like 'Start Writing for Free', placing OAuth badges ('or sign up in 1 click with Google, X, LinkedIn') in subtle microcopy below it.
3. Fake app chrome clashes with real page navigation
The simulated app header at the very top contains active-looking orange 'Schedule' and blue 'Publish' buttons immediately adjacent to real navigation buttons ('Log in', 'Sign up'). Visitors don't know what is clickable.
Fix: Enclose the product preview inside a dedicated device or browser mockup container clearly framed below the hero fold, and maintain a clean, dedicated website navigation bar at the top.
What the typefully.com homepage does well
- The 10,000+ customer proof badge and recognized company logos (Product Hunt, Vercel, Coinbase) build instant credibility.
- The subhead clearly specifies supported networks (X, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Threads), answering compatibility questions immediately.
- The minimalist, clean font choice and pastel aesthetic match the modern creator software category standard.
