netlify.com homepage teardown: 63/100
Landing page examples › Dev tool › netlify.com
Netlify's hero leads with a six-word slogan, "Push your ideas to the web", and never says who the product is for or what the visitor gets, so a strong button and proof logos are left doing the persuading.
We ran netlify.com through PageCritic's landing page audit. It scored 63/100, #8 of the 9 developer tool landing page examples we scored (average 69) and #59 of all 79 homepages in our ranked list. Its strongest area is Trust (93), and its weakest is Clarity (35).
Audited on 2026-10-24 from desktop and mobile screenshots plus the page's HTML. The scores are an AI's opinion of conversion best practices, not measured conversion rates, and netlify.com didn't ask for this review. The page may have changed since.

Top 3 issues, with fixes
1. No audience named
Nothing in the hero says who this is for (developers, agencies, product teams, or founders). The visitor has to scroll to 'For every kind of web app' to find out, so many will bounce before they self-select.
Fix: Add an audience cue above or inside the subheadline, e.g. "For developers and product teams shipping web apps, sites and AI features", while keeping the current subheadline.
2. Headline is a slogan, not a result
"Push your ideas to the web" is abstract and names no outcome, such as faster launches or fewer deploy steps. It reads like a tagline rather than a promise the visitor can judge.
Fix: Rewrite the H1 to state a concrete outcome, e.g. "Ship your web app in seconds, not sprints", and move the slogan into the eyebrow or brand line.
3. No reason to choose Netlify over alternatives
The hero offers no differentiator such as speed, pricing, or ownership of the stack. Visitors comparing hosts have nothing to hold onto before scrolling.
Fix: Add one differentiator to the subheadline, e.g. a verifiable claim like "Global CDN, instant rollbacks and built-in functions on one platform", replacing the generic "One platform to build and ship."
What the netlify.com homepage does well
- The H1 "Push your ideas to the web" is short, large at 64 px and in high-contrast white on dark, so it is the first thing the eye lands on.
- The teal "Start building" button has 11.52:1 contrast on the dark background and stands out clearly from the secondary "Request a demo" button.
- Social proof is strong: "10M+ developers, 60M+ apps deployed, 99.99% uptime" and a named testimonial from Jeffrey Sica of the CNCF sit close to the top of the page.
