raycast.com homepage teardown: 71/100
Sleek and atmospheric, but sacrifices conversion clarity by hiding product UI and burying the primary CTA at the bottom viewport edge.
We ran raycast.com through PageCritic's landing page audit. It scored 71/100, #6 of the 9 developer tool landing page examples we scored (average 70) and #30 of all 70 homepages in our ranked list. Its strongest area is Design (88), and its weakest is Mobile (63).
Audited on 2026-10-18 from desktop and mobile screenshots plus the page's HTML. The scores are an AI's opinion of conversion best practices, not measured conversion rates, and raycast.com didn't ask for this review. The page may have changed since.

Top 3 issues, with fixes
1. Zero product preview above the fold
The hero relies purely on an abstract red light graphic. For an interface-driven tool like an extendable launcher, not seeing the command bar (⌘ Space) forces users to guess how it works.
Fix: Embed a crisp, interactive or looped preview of the Raycast search bar and quick actions right beneath the subheadline instead of generic light streaks.
2. Desktop CTA is detached and pushed to the bottom screen edge
The 'Download for Mac' button sits isolated at the extreme bottom of the viewport, separated by massive empty black space from the headline and value copy.
Fix: Group the primary 'Download for Mac' button directly beneath the subheadline with OS detection, Homebrew copy, and a 'Free forever' reassurance tag.
3. Disjointed mobile CTA path
On mobile, the only visible ATF button is 'The Raycast Keyboard ->', completely diverting users from Raycast's core software and offering no way to get a desktop install link.
Fix: Change the mobile CTA to offer 'Send download link to email' or highlight 'Download for iOS / Join Windows Waitlist' alongside the desktop download link.
What the raycast.com homepage does well
- World-class aesthetic design and typography that immediately signals premium craftsmanship to tech-savvy users.
- Concise subheadline ('A collection of powerful productivity tools all within an extendable launcher') quickly explains the core product category.
- High-contrast floating header with a clear primary 'Download' action kept persistent across scroll.
