supabase.com homepage teardown: 78/100
Landing page examples › SaaS › supabase.com
Supabase has a strong, specific headline and a clear primary button, but the hero never says who the product is for and its feature cards describe what it has rather than what the visitor gains.
We ran supabase.com through PageCritic's landing page audit. It scored 78/100, #2 of the 11 SaaS landing page examples we scored (average 70) and #7 of all 79 homepages in our ranked list. Its strongest area is Speed & SEO (100), and its weakest is Value prop (60).
Audited on 2026-10-24 from desktop and mobile screenshots plus the page's HTML. The scores are an AI's opinion of conversion best practices, not measured conversion rates, and supabase.com didn't ask for this review. The page may have changed since.

Top 3 issues, with fixes
1. No stated target audience
The hero only says "Start your project with a Postgres database" and never names who it serves (indie devs, startups, agencies, AI builders). Visitors who don't see themselves in the page are likely to leave.
Fix: Add an audience cue to the subheadline, e.g. "For startups, agencies and indie builders: start with a Postgres database, then add Auth, APIs, Edge Functions, Realtime, Storage and Vector."
2. Feature cards list features, not benefits
The first-screen cards are titled "Postgres Database", "Authentication" and "Edge Functions" and mostly describe the tech ("100% portable", "Built-in Auth with RLS", "Easy to extend"). The gain for the visitor is implied rather than stated.
Fix: Lead each card with the outcome: change "Postgres Database" body to "Your data stays portable, so you are never locked in", and "Authentication" to "Let users sign up and log in without writing auth code."
3. AI summary doesn't match the headline
"Build in a weekend / Scale to millions" is a slogan. An AI or search summary reading the page can't tell that the product is a Postgres backend platform without reading the subheadline, so the headline doesn't carry the core category.
Fix: Put the category in the H1 or directly under it, e.g. add a line "The Postgres development platform" above or beside the headline, so the headline and summary both name the product.
What the supabase.com homepage does well
- The headline "Build in a weekend / Scale to millions" states a clear result, promising speed now and growth later in a few words.
- The subheadline "Start your project with a Postgres database. Add Authentication, Data APIs, Edge Functions..." makes the product's category and components obvious right away.
- Testimonials with named people and companies, such as Kris Woods, CTO, Phoenix Energy, give credible social proof further down the page.
