todoist.com homepage teardown: 68/100
Landing page examples › App › todoist.com
The hero headline "The task system you’ll actually stick with" is a slogan that never says who Todoist is for or what result the buyer gets, and the cookie banner covers a quarter of the first screen.
We ran www.todoist.com through PageCritic's landing page audit. It scored 68/100, #3 of the 10 app landing page examples we scored (average 62) and #44 of all 79 homepages in our ranked list. Its strongest area is CTA (87), and its weakest is Clarity (25).
Audited on 2026-10-24 from desktop and mobile screenshots plus the page's HTML. The scores are an AI's opinion of conversion best practices, not measured conversion rates, and todoist.com didn't ask for this review. The page may have changed since.

Top 3 issues, with fixes
1. No audience named in the hero
Nothing in the first screen says whether Todoist is for individuals, teams, or businesses. The nav offers "Personal" and "Business" but the hero doesn't pick one, so visitors have to hunt for their own fit.
Fix: Name the audience in the subheadline, for example "Task management for individuals and teams who need work to get done on time", replacing "Capture tasks from anywhere and put routines on repeat."
2. Headline is a slogan, not a result
"The task system you’ll actually stick with" describes a feeling about the product rather than an outcome such as fewer dropped tasks or work done on time, so it doesn't give a reason to click.
Fix: Lead with the outcome, for example "Stop letting tasks fall through the cracks", and move the current line to a secondary position or drop it.
3. AI summary doesn't match the headline
An AI reading the page summarises it differently from the headline, so the headline isn't reinforcing what the product is and AI-driven discovery may describe it inaccurately.
Fix: Make the headline and subheadline both state the category (task manager) and the outcome in plain words, so the page's core message is consistent.
What the todoist.com homepage does well
- The headline is short (7 words) and set large at 55 px, so it is the first thing the eye reads.
- The problem statement "Trying to keep track of all the important details in spreadsheets, inboxes, WhatsApp messages, and busy brains" names the pain clearly.
- A "Start for free" button appears in the first screen on both desktop and phone, so the main action is always visible.
