transistor.fm homepage teardown: 78/100

Landing page examples › Indie › transistor.fm

The hero shows a clear product and a strong trial button, but the headline "Publish your podcast everywhere" names a feature and never says who the product is for or why it beats alternatives.

We ran transistor.fm through PageCritic's landing page audit. It scored 78/100, #4 of the 9 indie hacker landing page examples we scored (average 72) and #8 of all 79 homepages in our ranked list. Its strongest area is CTA (100), and its weakest is Value prop (40).

Audited on 2026-10-24 from desktop and mobile screenshots plus the page's HTML. The scores are an AI's opinion of conversion best practices, not measured conversion rates, and transistor.fm didn't ask for this review. The page may have changed since.

Top 3 issues, with fixes

1. No audience named anywhere up top

A visitor cannot tell whether this is for solo hobbyists, businesses running private podcasts, or networks. The hero only lists platforms (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pocket Casts), so people unsure they fit will hesitate before the trial button.

Fix: Add an audience line under the headline, such as "Podcast hosting for independent creators, companies and networks", or name the segment in the subheadline next to the platform logos.

2. Reason to choose Transistor is buried

The strongest differentiator, "We don't charge you for creating additional podcasts", sits deep in the Hosting feature block, far below the first screen. Visitors comparing hosts never see why this one is different.

Fix: Surface the unlimited-shows point near the hero, for example a line under the platform logos: "Unlimited shows on one plan, no extra charge per podcast."

3. Features are listed instead of outcomes

Section titles such as "Easy distribution for your podcast", "Create your private podcast" and "Host multiple podcasts on one account" describe what the software has, not what the podcaster gains (reach, time saved, revenue).

Fix: Rewrite the feature titles as results, for example "Reach listeners on every app from one upload" and "Run a members-only show for your team or community".
