sentry.io homepage teardown: 74/100
Landing page examples › Dev tool › sentry.io
The headline is punchy, but the first screen never says what Sentry concretely delivers or proves it, and the subheadline "considered 'not bad'" undercuts the pitch.
We ran sentry.io through PageCritic's landing page audit. It scored 74/100, #3 of the 9 developer tool landing page examples we scored (average 69) and #22 of all 79 homepages in our ranked list. Its strongest area is Mobile (87), and its weakest is Value prop (47).
Audited on 2026-10-24 from desktop and mobile screenshots plus the page's HTML. The scores are an AI's opinion of conversion best practices, not measured conversion rates, and sentry.io didn't ask for this review. The page may have changed since.

Top 3 issues, with fixes
1. Hero names features, not benefits
The hero only says "Code breaks, fix it faster" and "not bad"; nothing on screen tells a visitor what better outcome they get, so the reason to act is weak.
Fix: Replace the subheadline "Application monitoring software considered "not bad" by millions of developers." with a concrete outcome, e.g. "See the error, the trace and the release that caused it, so your team ships fixes the same day."
2. No reassurance about the risk of trying
Nothing on the first screen says signing up is free, quick to cancel or has no commitment, so the visitor carries the full perceived risk of a new tool.
Fix: Add a short line under the buttons such as "Free plan, no credit card, set up in five lines of code." (only if true for the plan).
3. Target audience is broad
"Millions of developers" does not say which developers (frontend, backend, mobile, a specific stack), so people who are not sure they fit may bounce.
Fix: Name the audience and stack in the subheadline, e.g. "Error monitoring for JavaScript, Python, Go and mobile teams."
What the sentry.io homepage does well
- The headline "Code breaks, fix it faster" states a result in five words and the pink "breaks," gives it personality.
- The white "GET STARTED" button stands out clearly against the dark background at 40 px tall, so the main action is easy to spot.
- The testimonial from Anthropic's Systems Lead with a specific claim about incidents gives credible, named proof further down the page.
