slack.com pricing page teardown: 74/100

A polished, authoritative pricing page undermined by ambiguous, identical CTAs across tiers and mobile card cutoffs that bury high-tier offerings.

We ran slack.com/pricing through PageCritic's landing page audit. It scored 74/100, #3 of the 14 SaaS pricing page examples we scored (average 69). Its strongest area is Trust (89), and its weakest is CTA (62).

Audited on 2026-10-18 from desktop and mobile screenshots plus the page's HTML. The scores are an AI's opinion of conversion best practices, not measured conversion rates, and slack.com didn't ask for this review. The page may have changed since.

Top 3 issues, with fixes

1. Identical CTA text creates conversion ambiguity

Free, Pro, and Business+ all display 'GET STARTED'. Users cannot tell whether clicking a paid tier triggers a 14-day trial, an instant checkout, or account creation.

Fix: Differentiate buttons by tier intent: 'Start Free' for the Free plan, 'Try Pro Free for 14 Days' (or 'Buy Pro') for Pro, and 'Try Business+ Free' for Business+.

2. Mobile horizontal cutoff hides paid tiers

On mobile, the viewport displays the Free card while cutting off the Pro plan mid-price and hiding Business+ ('BEST VALUE') entirely off-screen, inadvertently nudging traffic toward the $0 tier.

Fix: Default to a stacked card layout or add a clear tier selector tab control (Free | Pro | Business+ | Enterprise+) on mobile so users can compare paid plans without blind horizontal scrolling.

3. Introductory discount mechanics trigger price anxiety

'50% OFF FOR 3 MONTHS*' is heavily highlighted, but the asterisk terms and the post-month-3 ongoing rates are not explained inline, leaving buyers hesitant to commit.

Fix: Replace the asterisk with a microcopy note or hover tooltip directly beneath the price showing: 'Renews at standard monthly rate of $8.75/user after 3 months. Cancel anytime.'
